China Mobile vows to reinvest revenues in Pakistan
China Mobile Pakistan, a subsidiary of telecom giant China Mobile Communications Corporation recently in a statement announced that it would reinvest its domestic earnings in Pakistan’s cellular market through its subsidiary Zong.
In their statement, it said that they are to divert focus towards Pakistan’s digital infrastructure under the auspices of the infrastructure-centered Belt and Road initiative. They also boasted about the significant investment they have already made by it in expanding Pakistan’s communications infrastructure.
CMP also has invested $3 billion into Pakistan in order to establish stable internet connections, and through Zong 4G are planning on further scaling up their network by increasing the number of 3G/4G sites to around 10,500 by the end of current year.
“Our first goal to help the Pakistani adopt Digital lifestyle” said CMPak Spokesperson and Corporate Affairs and Strategy Director Maham Dard. He further added; “Any revenue earned from the people of Pakistan will be spent back on the people of Pakistan to give them a stable, advanced and reliable (communications) network.”
