September 11, 2019: Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) in collaboration with Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) and the Jang Media Group, official spikes representative in Pakistan, brought a globally recognized competition, Young Spikes Digital Competition to Pakistan. Jubilee Life Insurance sponsored the contest. This nationwide competition invited professionals aged 30 working in an agency or a freelance digital consultancy to participate or even a brand and agency could form a team. The winning team was promised a unique opportunity to represent Pakistan and compete regionally/globally against other national winners from other countries at the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity in Singapore on the 25th of September, 2019 through an all-expenses-paid round trip. Team MullenLowe Rauf (Haleema Ahmed and Romaan Naeem) won the competition and will be heading to Singapore this month.

On the morning of 4th of September, 26 teams from different agencies and brands gathered to hear client brief at Unilever’s guest house. Jubilee Insurance Company set the brief. Zohaib Ayaz, Director Strategy, Prestige and Usman Qaiser, CMO, Jubilee Life, set the objectives of the challenge. After a live Q&A session along with a motivational message from past Young Spikes Competition participant, Muhammad Ali Khan, Manager Strategy and Creative, Spectrum, the competing teams set out to create an integrated social media campaign in 24 hours.

The presentations were received on the 5th of September and the jury convened on the 6th of September to judge each campaign. On the same day, 5 teams were shortlisted and were asked to present their integrated social media plans to the jury. Three teams were on-ground while two teams presented online. The jury consisted of industry experts; Fawaz Ahmed, Farhan Khan, Amna Khatib, Kiran Murad, and Emaad Ishaque Khan. Usman Qaiser and Zohaib Ayaz were also part of the jury.
