PAS held its 28th Annual General Meeting and elected its new Executive Council

Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) held its 28th Annual General Body Meeting on Friday, 5th of December in Karachi.
The AGM was attended by all the elected council members and the representative members of PAS. Chairperson of the Society, Ms. Farheen Salman, CEO, Ismail Industries, Foods Division, commenced the meeting with an overview of the successful initiatives executed in 2025 by PAS.
The General Manager of PAS, Ms. Afsheen Rizavi and the Executive Director of PAS, Mr. Qamar Abbas, presented the key initiatives of 2025 for instance MADsemble, Simorgh Awards, Pakistan Young Lions Competition and the flagship programme Effie Awards Pakistan. They also presented the new initiatives such as CEO Circle and unveiled the highlights of two industry research. Mr. Abbas also presented the agenda for 2026.
The Council elections were also part of the proceedings as 2025 marks the end of the two-year tenure of the current Council and Office Bearers. The newly elected council comprises of 12 members.
Ms. Farheen Salman Amir, CEO, Ismail Industries, Foods Division, was elected as the new Chairperson of the Society. Syed Ali Akbar, MD and CEO, Pakistan Tobbaco Company, was elected as the Vice Chair and Mr. Nauman Khan, CEO Pakistan and Global CEO, Foods, Dabur International as the General Secretary of the Society.
Other newly elected Executive Council members include Shahzain Munir, Executive Director- EBM, Ali Rashid Khan, Director Marketing – National Foods, Raheel Yousuf, Head of Marketing and Brand Management – Bank Alfalah and Syed Usman Qaiser, CMO – U&I International (J.), Ammad Danish, General Manager, Home Care – Unilever Pakistan, Fuad Ghazanffar, CMO – Nestle Pakistan – Ali Habib, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, HBL and Sarah Sadiq, Director Marketing, FrieslandCampina.
Fuad Ghazanfar, CMO, Nestle Pakistan was appointed as the Chair of the Regional Committee.
Thanking all the outgoing council and the PAS representatives, and welcoming the newly elected council, Qamar Abbas, Executive Director PAS said “the unwavering support of the board, their commitment and dedication to the cause is what encourages all of us to push our boundaries and do more for the industry. I also thank all the member companies, as each one of them has played an integral part in making our initiatives successful, specifically the new ones. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to achieve what we have this year”.
The new council will start its term from 1st of January 2026.
The AGM ended on a high note with Ms. Salman’s speech presiding as the chair, and thanked all the members of the society and specially the council for their immense support during her tenure.
She said “As I continue this journey, it remains an honor to serve this diverse and progressive community, and I stay fully committed to this shared mission. Together with the Council, the Executive Committee, and the PAS Management, I look forward to build an even stronger future for our industry.”
